Why am I not earning units or GXP when I am playing games? Maya October 10, 2024 19:59 Updated Follow If it appears that your unit balance is not increasing or you’re not making progress toward the next checkpoint in your game (by earning GXP), the app might not be tracking your playtime correctly. There are a few things that can cause this to happen – let’s look into it! 🧑🔧 To ensure that the time-tracking feature of the app is properly set up on your device, please do the following: 1. Force stop the app and restart your device. Once your device has restarted, reboot the app. 2. Look for the “Recording game time” notification from Mistplay in your notification bar and select it. Toggle the setting off and on again in the app, then launch your game of choice. 3. Within ten seconds of launching the game, you should see the “Welcome back” drop-down notification. This confirms that the app is monitoring your playtime. Remember to always launch your games through Mistplay rather than directly from your device’s list of applications. Launching a game through Mistplay is the only way to be absolutely certain that your playtime is recorded, which enables you to earn as you play. If you’re still having trouble earning units or GXP, despite confirming that your device is properly configured to record your playtime, please consider the following: Your phone might be on Power Saver mode: Power Saver mode tends to shut off background processes on your device, which results in Mistplay being unable to track your progress while running in the background. Your phone might have Data Saver turned on: Mistplay needs to stay connected to the internet while you play games in order to track your playtime. Make sure to turn off the Data Saver setting or enable unrestricted internet access for Mistplay. You’ve reached the level cap for your game: All games have a Mistplay level cap at Checkpoint 20. If you’ve reached this level, you’ll need to switch over to a new game in order to keep earning units. You haven’t enabled screen overlay or usage access for Mistplay: Both of these permissions must be enabled in your device’s settings in order for Mistplay to function as intended. You’ve hit the game’s daily time cap: Once you play a game for more than two hours in a single day, you will temporarily stop receiving units for that game until tomorrow. That said, you can continue earning units by trying different games. You’re leaving your phone idle/aren’t actively playing a game: In order for the app to track your playtime, you must actively play a game. Leaving the game running on your phone without actually playing it will cause the app to stop tracking your playtime, even if the game has idle-play features built into it. Mistplay’s “Recording your game time” setting has been turned off: Make sure this setting is always turned on when you use Mistplay. You can check it by visiting the “Profile” tab in Mistplay. Just tap the three dots in the top-right corner, followed by “Settings.” If you’re using a Samsung device, verify that Priority/Game Booster modes are turned off: These modes stop all background processes, which prevents Mistplay from time tracking. To disable Game Booster, please complete the following steps: 1. Open the “Settings” application on your device. 2. Tap on “Advanced features,” then turn off the toggle located next to “Game launcher.” To view a complete history of your unit earnings and expenditures, select your unit balance in the top-right corner of the screen, then tap “Full history.” Related articles How can I earn units?
